The Pinal Pioneer Parkway is part of old US Route 89 (now Arizona Route 79) between Florence and Tucson, Arizona. Because of higher than normal rains this spring the road was lined with wildflowers when I travelled it in March. This road is a more leisurely alternative than Interstate 10 and offers a more intimate experience of this beautiful section of the Sonoran Desert.
